Christian Alliance International School (CAIS), a non-profit making company wholly owned by the Kowloon Tong Church of the Chinese Christian and Missionary Alliance, invites applications for the position of AV Technical Officer (AVTO). Reporting to the Principal (Administration) / Senior AV Officer, the AV Technical Officer has a vital role in supporting the AV department with a primary focus on the AV facilities in the school. The AVTO provides flexible support for all external events as well as appropriate support for internal school events, with responsibilities that include the following:
Duties and Responsibilities
Inventory Management and Maintenance
Assist the Senior AV Officer in maintaining an accurate register of resources and equipment, including a maintenance and replacement schedule. Maintain storage facilities and AV equipment to ensure that they are clean, functional, and sorted according to the Senior AV Officer. Troubleshoot issues with AV equipment and provide just-in-time support where needed.
External Event Support
Provide AV support for events from external hirers (this includes evenings, weekends, and non-school days). Troubleshoot and provide solutions for clients that may have ad-hoc requests that may not have been specified in their initial booking form. Provide training and support for weekly church services on campus.
Internal Event Support
Provide AV support for school events such as chapels/assemblies, carnival, camp, concerts, etc. This includes ad-hoc events that may require hours outside of normal reporting times. Set up and pack up AV equipment needed for school events (may require extra hours). Provide additional technical support to the Senior AV Officer when required.
Media Development
Film and edit videos for different parties (Admissions and Advancement, Senior Leadership Team, Human Resources). Develop media for digital signage.
Community & School Development
Be actively involved in the corporate life of the school and contribute to building community. Promote and adhere to the values and Christian ethos of the school. Support the day-to-day running of the school. Fulfil ad hoc tasks from time to time as directed by the Principal (Administration) / Senior AV Officer. Working HoursServe a non-standard work schedule with a 40-hour work week; availability on weekends and some evenings is required.
Qualifications and Experience
Diploma qualification or above in related discipline Experience in digital lighting & digital audio management, production / event management & support, and leading & training technical teams Experience in large event management (e.g. concert or theatre production) preferred Experience in using ProTools for recording and audio production preferred Strong analytical skill, good interpersonal and communication skills; being attentive to details, proactive and self-initiative Willing to learn new technologies and solutions Good command of both spoken and written English is essential. Effective communication skills in Chinese would be an advantage. Candidate with an understanding of Christian values preferred.
