How to Apply

Four steps to CAIS Admissions:

Before you start, please read these guidelines:

  1. Collect the supporting documents required as per the Application Checklist
  2. Apply online for 2025-2026. Any fields you have entered will automatically be saved. You can login again and complete it later.
  3. When you have completed the form and pressed submit, follow the instructions to print it.
  4. Send the completed form printout by postal mail to the Admissions Office, along with supporting documents, as per the Application Checklist, and Application Fee Cheque.
    • Preparatory to Grade 3: $1,500
    • Grade 4 to Grade 12: $1,800

Application Deadline*

For 2025-2026 admissions, local applicants should observe the following deadlines to ensure their priority in testing:

Preparatory and Grade 1 (Alberta Curriculum): October 31, 2024
Grade 2 to Grade 12 (Alberta Curriculum): December 13, 2024
Grade 11 (IB Diploma Programme): Rolling basis

*The date of online submission is recognized as the date of application. However, ​if we do not receive your form printout, supporting documents and Application Fee cheque within a week of your online submission, your application would be considered incomplete and will not be processed.

Overseas applicants are encouraged to contact our office (admissions@caisbv.edu.hk) and submit the applications as soon as possible.

If seats are available, the applicant will be scheduled for an admissions assessment (and student interview). An email invitation will be sent to the applicant 7 days prior to the scheduled date. The Application Fee will be processed on the assessment day. The applicant should be accompanied to the assessment by one parent or guardian.

We do not accept cash.  Please make cheque payable to “Christian Alliance International School”.

Assessment timeline:

Preparatory and Grade 1: November to December 2024
Grade 2 to Grade 12: January to May 2025
Grade 11 (IB Diploma Programme): Rolling basis

The admissions assessment is conducted by our Admissions Team. Duration of the assessment varies according to applying grade:

  • Preparatory to Grade 3: Approximately 1 hour
  • Grade 4 to Grade 6:  Approximately 2.5 hours
  • Grade 7 to Grade 12:  Approximately 3 hours

Parents will be interviewed by our Admissions Team as well, on a separate day, if necessary.

All assessment related materials are the property of CAIS. These materials are kept confidential and will not be released to any party.

When an admissions assessment is offered but there is no vacancy available, parents can choose to have the applicant assessed or not.

Parents will be notified of the admissions decision in writing within 30 days. If the applicant fulfills the admissions requirement but vacancy is not available, the applicant will be placed in the Wait Pool for one academic year. The assessment results are only valid for one academic year.

Acceptance will not be offered until the Student Reference Form (for Secondary applicants only) is received by CAIS Admissions Office.

Placement will be confirmed once the Individual Capital Note or Annual Capital Levy payment is paid by the designated date.

A Chinese placement test will be arranged for applicants admitted into Grade 7 to Grade 12, prior to the first day of school.

New students who are admitted into Grade 11 to Grade 12 are required to submit their official transcripts prior to their first day of school. They may have to present a mid-term transcript for course selection purpose.

Registration Package will be sent out from the General Office before the summer break.

New Parent and Student Induction Meeting will be scheduled before the first day of school, if necessary.
